Powering the watch is its original caliber 1030 handwound movement with quick-setting date. It is the handwound version of the the 10xx series of movements that powered many of Omega's watches from the era including Seamasters and Constellations (in its chronometer form).
It is fully original down to the hands, winding crown, and signed crystal. The movement has been recently serviced. The aftermarket leather strap has been previously fitted with a new Omega buckle.

Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve) and later expanded the line of watches featuring the name. According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
